Senator Bennet was first appointed to the Senate to complete the remaining term of Ken Salazar.  The senator was first elected in the 2010 election and then re-elected in 2016, then re-elected again for his final term in in 2022.  Bennet has announced he will run for governor of Colorado in 2026, and if elected will resign his senate seat. If not elected Colorado governor, has has not announced whether he will run to retain his seat in the 2028 election.

Senator Hickenlooper was elected to the US Senate in 2020.  Current expectations are that he will stand for re-election in November of 2026.
