Promote Thoughtful Citizen Involvement in Government
According to the US Department of Justice, fewer than 2 in 10 Americans say they trust the government in Washington to do what is right. Americans feel helpless to change a system that they distrust and feel alienated from. GovWell offers opportunities to become better informed and to be more active in political candidate selection and support, as well as learn strategies to effectively interact with elected officials at all levels of government. Your voice counts!
Civic Education
High School "Civics" or "Government class was a long time ago. Many people don't readily know who their elected representatives are or what they stand for and/vote for. Do you know what federal and state senate and house district you live in when it comes time to vote? Do you know which level of government (City, County, State, Federal, or Agency) dictates our laws and rules and regulations? GovWell provides that information.
Promote Rational Voting by Informed Citizens
Today's political environment fosters real and perceived deceit, misinformation, and fake news. GovWell seeks to cut through media bias and chaos to provide non-partisan factual information in a way that relies more on thought than emotion.
Candidate Selection, Training & Support
Selection of an elected official who possesses the integrity, knowledge, and skills to be effective begins with effective candidate identification, recruitment, training and support. It's time to look beyond a "slick look" and "big talk" to put forward candidates that say what they mean and do what they say. GovWell strives to involve YOU in that process.
Elected Official Training & Support
Once elected, our governmental representatives face ongoing challenges that can effect the quality of their decisions. GovWell provides group and personal training sessions to assist in developing research skills, decision making skills & processes, communication skills, as well as psychological skills to understand and manage the many pressures that elected officials are burdened by.
